Our Professor of Environmental Psychology, Maria Johansson, was invited to speak at the 8th edition of Norwegian ArchFest in Haugesund, Norway, held from 23–25 August 2026.
This year’s festival, “You, Me and Architecture Psychology – In a Brutal World,” explored the relationship between architecture and human experience, focusing on how our built environments influence our thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Bringing together architects, researchers and other experts from across disciplines, the programme approached architecture psychology through perspectives including environmental psychology, neuroscience, sociology and anthropology.
As one of the invited international speakers, Maria contributed an environmental psychology perspective to the festival’s exploration of the connections between architecture, environment and human wellbeing.
