Research

Our research develops new knowledge about the discipline and practice of architecture and the built environment in order to educate the next generation of design practitioners.

Spatial processes of global urbanisation serve as a platform to investigate and influence connections between people, nature, art, materials and technology. Our interdisciplinary research approach integrates theories and methods from design disciplines, artistic practices, social sciences and humanities to realise more sustainable living conditions in cities and regions. We conduct research-led teaching in the classroom and studio that draws on our students' expertise and creativity, and we also collaborate with non-academic partners to ensure that knowledge creation leads to relevant and actionable outcomes in the world.
