Urban Design and Urbanism

Helicopter shot of green park. Photo.

The subject of Urban Design and Urbanism is concerned with teaching and research about city planning and the shaping of the public realm, with a focus on sustainable development.

Members of staff from the Master's programme for Sustainable Urban Design are among those who teach on the subject.

Research in the subject is primarily concerned with studies of urban spaces and their potential. Additionally, questions of social segregation, blue-green solutions in open urban spaces, support for sustainable daily activities, and how spatial design and materiality affect human interactions are also studied.
